Math – Ordered Pairs Watch the video and complete pages 525-528 in your Volume 1 Textbook. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHkrfwcH6Hc Remember – A coordinate plane consists of two perpendicular lines that cross at the origin. The X axis runs horizontally (across)and the Y axis runs vertically (up). The point where the two axes intersect is called the origin (0,0). Ordered Pairs – is a pair of numbers that are used to name a point. (3,5) The first number is the X axis and the second number is the Y axis. *Hint – you must ‘crawl before you can walk’ and you ‘have to enter the elevator before you can go up”. In other words – run across the X axis for the first number and then jump up the Y axis for the second number. Fun Extension/Practice: https://www.mathsisfun.com/data/click-coordinate.html Reading – Choice Boards Read for 30 minutes and find 8 interesting/unknown vocabulary words. Define each word and use it in a sentence that shows understanding of the definition of the word. You don’t necessarily need to do all 8 words today – you may add them as you read throughout the week. These can come from either your own book or the guided reading book we were working on in our groups. Science – Changes in Matter Watch the Bill Nye video and answer the questions.
